Lion Rampant... Roman Light Troops.

Greetings...

Here are a couple more re-based Roman units...
I had to add a few new toys to make up the numbers... Hopefully you can't tell which ones.

These chaps I intend to use as Lanciarii... I may add javelin quivers at some point.

Light Infantry Archers...These have been based so I can use them as two skirmish units if I want...

The real world is in charge for the next week or so... Hopefully I will get a bit of painting done next weekend.

Lion Rampant... 3rd Century Rome.

Greetings...

Due to life...life...life and of course work...
I have not had a lot of time to do much since Xmas...

I have done something however...

I have been rebasing my small 3rd Century Romans to fit in with the Lion Rampant rules...

This has been inspired by two things...
One... the fact that I have realised that I don't have the stamina or desire to paint up two whole Hail Caesar armies.
Two... some very nice army lists for Romans on the blog I Live With Cats...

Rebasing my Romans has given me six units of infantry... two units of cavalry and some command types... Enough I think for a nice small game.

I have put them on round bases...
The infantry are on 30mm... 45mm and 55mm.
The cavalry are on 45mm... 55mm and 65mm.
The command are on whatever suits.

Here are a few units... I have of course yet to texture them as I haven't made up my mind how I would like them to look...

I have also started some Sassanids to fight against them...

I am looking forward to getting on with this project... hopefully it won't take me too long.

Shiny Napoleonics... French Lancers and Artillery.

Greetings...

Something shiny for the new year...

Its been a while since I posted anything about my Shiny Napoleonic project... I have been very slowly working away on further test pieces... Some which didn't pass muster and others like these which did.

5th Lancers of the Line...

These are Lamming Miniatures... I have admit that they didn't look much when I got them...
But they were cheap...

After a good bath and brush up in Dettol...

Plus some new pieces for command...

The lances were replaced and pennants added...

The miniatures were then given an undercoat of Tamiya Nato Brown spray paint...

The horses were given a number of brown and red washes until I was satisfied with the colour (these were painted in the pre Contrast days)
The officers horse was painted black and the trumpeters... Citadel... Administratum Grey.
Tunics and Overalls were... Citadel... Caliban Green.
Facings and Trumpeters Tunic were... Foundry... Sky Blue 21B.
Carbines... Citadel... Mournfang Brown.
Sheepskins Belts Etc... Citadel... Pallid Wych Flesh.
Red Bits... Citadel... Evil Sunz Scarlet.
The Stands were... Citadel... Lorien Forest.
