And Another New Book…

 Napoleon’s  Hussars & Chsseurs…

By Paul L Dawson…

This is another excellent book from Frontline Books…

https://www.pen-and-sword.co.uk/Napoleons-Hussars-and-Chasseurs-Hardback/p/24302Pen and Sword Books: Napoleon’s Hussars and Chasseurs - Hardback

It’s up to the usual very high standard that I’ve gotten used to from this author…
Lots of high quality photos and plenty of information and interesting statistics and information…

This is also part of an on going series which includes Heavy Cavalry ( Already ordered), Lancers and Dragoons, Line Infantry, Light Infantry and Artillery.

Probably not to everyone’s taste but if you want to ‘ go deep’ on the detail of Napoleon’s Armies this is the place to go…

All the best.   Aly

  1. Nice nice looking book Aly…..may be a little deep for me though, I sadly can’t paint that level of detail 🤪

I’m not sure anyone can paint that kind of detail 😁

  2. Another splendid addition to your library! Looking forward to seeing the figures it inspires, once the eye is sorted of course!

  3. A fine looking book for the Napoleonic aficionados, it looks to be a one stop shop for information?

  4. Tugs at my heart to see such lovely tomes now being available after having reached saturation on my Napoleonic collection and giving away all of my Napoleonic uniform reference books--been culling books in general, so the temptation to scoop one up just to have one for itself is also a road to madness...still, lovely to see here in your post!

    1. I have given away a number of books while sorting out wargames room… But I suspect I am really just making room to buy some more…

  8. I got that one as an e-book to save space as I really still need to get rid of more books. It's full of great stuff as are most of Paul Dawson's books, the only problem, as ever, is that the units I'm focused on are often the least well covered, in this case the 4th Hussars. I also have his Waterloo one and have the Austerlitz volume on my Christmas / Birthday want list.

    1. E-books are useful but they don’t have the heft of paper…
I am quite impressed about how much information there is out there… Given how long ago it was first recorded…
Yes I rather like the look of the Austerlitz book…
