Lion Rampant… Rus - Khazars

Greetings…

At last the first unit of Rus is finished for this project… And the first unit since my eye operations.

It feels really good to get back to painting and seeing a unit ready for battle…

I have kept the colour scheme fairly simple for these as I didn’t want to put too much stress on the new peepers… I may add a bit more decoration on the next batch.

The Tunics are… Citadel… Pallid Wytch Flesh. White Shirts and Tunics seem to be popular with the Rus so it was an easy choice.

The Trousers are… AK Interactive… AK11094 Bordeaux.

The Armour and Metal bits are… AK Interactive… AK11210 Natural Steel.

The Leather Goods and such are a mixture of different suitable Browns and Tans.

Everything was given a wash of Aly’s Brown Liquid and then re-highlighted with the original shade.

It feels good to get them done… I quite enjoy basing so it was a nice easy but productive fix…

I must say it’s a real joy to have a paintbrush in my hand and be able to see what I am doing…

Personally I think it could be a bit neater… but I would… wouldn’t I…🤣

I am looking forward to getting more done… That Lead/Plastic Alp won’t paint itself…More’s the pity.
