The War Of Spanish Succesion... French Infantry Regiment Reding Allemand.

Greetings...

Yet another French regiment for this collection...
I have to say that the reason I picked this unit has nothing to do with its illustrious career or its truly unusual uniform...

Its the STANDARD!

They spent most of their time in Spain..

Montmelian... 1705.
Barcelona, Carthagena, Almaza... 1707.
Mequimenca, Lerida, Tortosa... 1708.
Balaguer... 1709.
Gerona... 1710-11.
Barcelona...  1714.

And they had a lovely Standard...

Lovely Standard...

Coat and Waistcoat... Citadel... Caledor Sky.
Cuffs... Citadel... Evil Sunz Scarlet.
Belts... Citadel... Balor Brown.
Musket/wooden bits/powder flask... Citadel ...Mournfang Brown
Ammunition pouches and scabbards... Citadel ... Skrag Brown
White Bits... Citadel... Pallid Wych Flesh.

The miniatures are as always Front Rank...

The paints are Citadel...

Bases from Warbases...

The lovely standard was made by me based on the Robert Hall plate from the Pike And Shot Society book...
Flags and Uniforms of the French Infantry under Louis XIV 1688-1714.

  3. That is indeed an exceptional standard! I've been looking for a French regiment with a different coat for my army, but I don't think I could do that standard justice!

Same colour uniform but with Chamois yellow facings and a simpler but very nice standard

  13. Aly, these are wonderful. They'll grace any battlefield. The flag is wonderful. Very embarrassingly, until I found this, I didn't even know you had a blog! I'm so sorry! Dully followed and added, Sir!
