ALY MORRISON'S "BUTTERFLY" ADVENTURES IN THE WORLD OF WARGAMES AND TOY SOLDIERS

Sunday 3 November 2019

The War of Spanish Succession... Dutch Artillery.

Greetings...

I have finished a new light gun and crew...

This one has been painted up as Dutch and with be used as a battalion gun or simply a light gun on its own...

The Coat, Waistcoat and Socks are... Citadel... Kantor Blue.
Which has been given a wash of... Citadel Drakenhof Nightshade.
The Facings are... Citadel... Evil Sunz Scarlet...
The Belts and Straps are... Foundry... Buff Leather 7B.
The Gun is... Citadel... Evil Sunz Scarlet.
Which has been given a coat of... Citadel Contrast... Blood Angel Red.
The metal work is... Citadel... Abaddon Black

Everything was then given a wash of Aly's Brown Liquid and highlighted with the original colours.

A nice workman like uniform I think.

Next on the painting desk... More Artillery.

All the best  Aly

They did like their guns to stand out in the early 18th century didn’t they.

Clearly as a wargamer.... there is no such thing as finished...
Once I have enough toys for a game... I will be taking a pause... there is still plenty of lead under the bed...

      All the best. Aly

  10. Very beautiful! I love it.

Question: Was the Dutch artillery uniform the same for all artillery units or did it vary from battery to battery?

    1. Thank you...

Yes the Artillery uniform was the same for all the batteries...
The only exception would possibly be with infantry battalion guns with I think would be manned by a mix of Artillery Gunners and men from the battalion...
The gunners doing the technical work and the infantry the heavy lifting.

      All the best. Aly
