ALY MORRISON'S "BUTTERFLY" ADVENTURES IN THE WORLD OF WARGAMES AND TOY SOLDIERS

Saturday 4 February 2023

40mm Napoleonics… Spanish Infantry and a couple of British Officers.

Greetings…

Here are more additions to this collection…

Spanish 36th Infantry Regiment Irlanda…

The Trousers are… Citadel… Pallid Wych Flesh, Administratum Grey and Doombull Brown.
The Blue Bits are… Citadel… Hoeth Blue.
The Yellow bits… Foundry… Ochre 4B.
Guns and Packs… Citadel… Mournfang Brown.
Greatcoats… Citadel… Administratum Grey.
Red Bits… Citadel… Evil Sunz Scarlet.

I really like the colour combinations of this uniform.

And the British Officers…
These chaps took part in the Boxing Day Game but I realised that I hadn’t shown them as individual figures…

Yet again these were all a real pleasure to paint…
I have now managed to paint all of the 40mm Perry Miniatures castings that I have… shock horror… the box is empty 😳.
I may have to get a few Cavalry.

All the best.  Aly

  6. As expected a really nice paint job especially on the Spanish. I’ve stuck with boring white! But more importantly how could you let the box get empty? It’s just not allowed, in fact I’m so stunned and shocked at this sacrilege I’m going to have to have a drink

Yes an empty box is an unusual thing for me…
      I too needed a stiff drink…😂

  7. Or...it means get the next half full box out, and start on them! Or even, get the painted figures into a regular cycle of games...just like my SCW and Pulp collections....oh....wait!
They are of course beautiful additions to your 40mm collection Aly and all joking aside, hope to see them in some able top action again soon!

Yes I think I have more than enough unpainted figures to keep me going…😂
But I do need some Hussars…
      And a few games.

  9. These are quite beautiful Aly. I’ve always wanted to,paint the Irlandia Regiment ever since I saw Ian Smiths wonderful 40mm collection. Yours would sit proudly alongside those for sure.

  10. You did a beautiful job and the Spanish allowed you to vary a lot in the colors of the uniforms. In addition, the poses of these Perry miniatures are dynamic without the soldiers appearing agitated (as sometimes happens for other manufacturers).
One last question: what is the "Empty Box"?? We thought it was just a legend... 😀

‘Empty box’ is something between a nightmare and a legend… hopefully some cavalry will be coming to the rescue.
