ALY MORRISON'S "BUTTERFLY" ADVENTURES IN THE WORLD OF WARGAMES AND TOY SOLDIERS

So… I’ve painted something.

Hurrah!

Greetings…

Yes indeed I have actually painted something…

It is a Victrix Miniatures Rus…

I must say it’s a real joy to have a paintbrush in my hand and be able to see what I am doing…

:

Personally I think it could be a bit neater… but I would… wouldn’t I…🤣

I am looking forward to getting more done… That Lead/Plastic Alp won’t paint itself…More’s the pity.

All the best   Aly

  1. You've obviously got your eyes back and 'in'. Very nice results Aly. Regarding your lead pile, I think a lot of us have a Viking horde waiting to be painted and between you and I, you're one figure ahead.

Yes the eyes seem to be settling in nicely… I shall still be taking things a bit easy…but steady…for a while.
I think I will be very happy to always be ‘one figure ahead’

  4. You have crossed the Rubicon and you are ready to take up the brush against the unwashed masses of unpainted figures. Hurrah!

  5. Don't really think many others would say 'it could be a bit neater'. Think most would say 'wish I could paint like that.'

  9. Very nice Aly...happily (maybe sadly for some) painting figures is one this AI is extremely unlikely to take over.

It is certainly a pastime that requires a hands on engagement…I doubt you could even create a mechanical device that could do it.

  10. He looks the business, very nice and good news that you are painting again! A self-painting lead pile, now I like that idea, you would think with all the modern technology about this would be an actual thing!!

I do rather like the idea of the miniatures lining up and colouring each other in…😁

Yes self painting miniatures would be entertaining… As long as they didn’t get “attitude “ and pick their own colours 😁.

  14. You sod. Even recovering from eye surgery you manage to produce better quality minis than me. (Huffs). Good to have you back at the painting table though, everything you put on the blog makes me try that little bit harder.

  16. I am glad the procedure was so successful. Wonderful first figure with your new sight. Personally I had a bit if adjusting to my new ' field of depth ' but you got it right out of the gate! Congrats, each figure here forward is a win.
