Testing Times… Tintin and STS…

Greetings…

I’m posting this for two reasons…

One… To show you the test paint jobs I have done for my planned Tintin project and a little reworking on some STS figures.

Two… To see if Blogger will let me 🤔🙄.

These represent Syldavians…

I’ve gone for a rather Soviet look… With nice simple bases.

These are some of my Shiny Toy Soldiers Schleswig- Holstein figures…

As I was putting them out on the shelves I realised that this collection is all over the place… Mixed basing style and sizes, some quite yellowish varnish and more figures than I really need/want for a game

So I thought I would try a quick bit of tidying up on these as well…subtle shading with a bit of lining out…

Similar to what Greenwood and Ball used to do back in the day…

I’m in no mad rush to do more with the STS stuff at the moment…The butterfly is heading for Tintin 😁

All the best    Aly

  3. Lovely looking pair of units, I did think you were being a little bit ambitious in a year in your last post so I am relieved for your sake! Looks like the new eyes work!

  10. Love the idea of Tintin. Don't know if you know about them, but a company called Blue Rider Publishing do a series of books on the aircraft from the Tintin stories as well as decals to go with them - https://blueriderpublishing.com/shop/books

      I have a couple myself…
They are splendid… I only wish model kits of the more obscure planes and helicopters were available.

  11. Turned out nice! Like the black lining especially.
Google is a colossal pain when it goes wrong; some blogs I can only comment on via the laptop (such as yours) as the tablet has to "sign in" to a non-existent account it has created (which I cannot access). Some allow anonymous comments where you can add your name. I dread being locked out of my blog by some casual error!

I suspect that Google is probably ‘Upgrading’ Blogger at the moment… To ‘Improve/Ruin’ our online experience…😳🙄🙀

The paint job works well with the style of the figures. Their simplicity makes it a lot easier to keep the lines neat and tidy.
