You have ever been given…
I finally retired nearly two weeks ago (1st May)…
My apologies for not posting sooner.
I’ve been a bit busy / distracted sorting things/ stuff out… but I have managed a bit more re-basing and I have started painting some Shiny Napoleonics….Hurrah !
Anyway… back to my gift.
On my retirement day we had a fairly sedate but very enjoyable get together in Bugmans Bar…
And one of my good friends confused quite a few people by giving me this…
Can you tell what it is?
To say this was unexpected would be an understatement 🤣🤣🤣…
All the best. Aly

Nice - who doesn't need a muzzle break! Is it real and if so how heavy is it? PS congratulations on your retirement - but now you won't have any excuses for not finishing all your projects ;)
ReplyDeleteThe perfect gift… for me anyway 😁
DeleteIt’s a reproduction but it still weighs a bit…
All the best. Aly
It looks like a muzzle brake for 75mm gun but if it was made in terracotta it would be great for growing strawberies, you should take a cast, swords into ploughshares etc, congratulations on your retirement, Im sure youll be busy, might see you at Partizan?
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
Close…
DeleteYour not the first person to suggest growing strawberries in it…
I will indeed be going to Partizan .
All the best. Aly
A muzzle brake, but for What type of Barrel ?
ReplyDeleteThat is indeed the BIG question…
DeleteAll the best. Aly
Congratulations on your retirement, mine is very fast approaching. What a novel retirement gift, looks good on top of the book shelves.
ReplyDeleteThank you Donnie…
DeleteIt is certainly a novel gift 😁
I’m just starting to get used to the whole retirement thing… It’s rather nice.
All best. Aly
Congratulations on your retirement, in six months time you'll think 'how did I have time to go to work ' !?
ReplyDeleteThank you…
DeleteIt feels a bit like that now…
All the best. Aly
Congratulations on retirement and gift!
ReplyDeleteDid you celebrate with some brake dancing? 😀
Thank you…
DeleteI think I would snap like a dry twig if I tried any crazy moves on the dance floor 🤣
All the best. Aly
Best wishes for a long and happy retirement, full of new and existing projects and fun times around the gaming table with friends.
ReplyDeleteThank you David…
DeleteFortunately I have you and Phil to inspire me 😁
All the best. Aly
Have you wondered how you had time to fit in work yet? The muzzle break will compliment your inflatable shell🙂 Will we see you Sunday?
ReplyDeleteHow did I manage it for all these years?
DeleteI am indeed going to Partizan… So yes I shall see you there.
All the best. Aly
Congratulations on retirement Aly!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a muzzle break from the long 75mm mounted on Panzer IV and Stug?
Neil
Thank you Neil…
DeleteClose… 😁
All the best. Aly
I would say but I have insider knowledge.
DeleteOh wow! Enjoy your retirement sculpting and painting whatever your butterfly lands on! Clearly you are well understood by your colleagues. Who doesn't need a 1:1 scale muzzle break!
ReplyDeleteThank you David…
DeleteYes I don’t know how I managed without a 1:1 Scale Muzzle Break…
Life feels more complete 🤣🤣🤣
All the best. Aly
Well, golly! I missed this post. Would have guessed a muzzle break (but maybe not for which tank). The more important comment is "congrats!" on joining the league of gentlemen-pensioner gamers!
ReplyDeleteThank you Ed…
DeleteRetirement certainly is to be recommend 😁
All the best. Aly
Well, I can't really answer now, can I - because I have already seen your "reveal" post!
