Today I took delivery of this lovely little book by Stuart Insch.
It is a guide to the British Expedition to Martinique and Guadeloupe in 1759... an often overlooked and unknown part of the Seven Years War....
I have only skimmed the book so far ... but I can say that it is well written and nicely laid out...
The contents cover the background, the actions in the campaign and scenarios for Wargaming... These are not tied to any specific rules so you can play them out with whatever system you are used to.
There are also some notes for Wargames... which include a list of suitable manufacturers... and a bibliography.
I am looking forwards to reading this....
The book is available from Stuart..

All the best Aly
I look forward to seeing some interesting figures and armies for this campaign on your blog Aly!
ReplyDeleteIt’s very tempting... but for the moment I shall try and finish ‘a few’ of the projects I have already started... ;-)
DeleteAll the best. Aly
Interesting find certainly not a area I know much about, will this lead to an expanding project ?
ReplyDeleteIt is indeed an interesting subject... not how one normally views the Seven Years War.
DeleteFor the moment the War Of Spanish Succession needs to be dealt with.
All the best. Aly
Looks interesting and what is this"finishing of projects" before starting another? I'm not really aware of that I'm afraid!
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
I heard some grown ups use these words and thought that I would use them to make me look clever.... ;-)

A very nice addition Ed to the wargames library. Another esoteric period away from the traditional battlegrounds we know of.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes,
Helen
Thank you Helen....
ReplyDeleteAnother tempting period...;-)
All the best. Aly
It's as well I don't have a sweet tooth.
ReplyDeleteAre you sure...?
DeleteJust received it in Georgia USA. Looks like a lot of fun and plan to use it with Sharp Practice for some interesting skirmish games.
ReplyDeleteIt’s a lovely little book...
ReplyDeleteI think all the scenarios could be used for many periods...
All the best. Aly
