Greetings…
These chaps took a lot longer to paint than I thought they would…
But they are now finished…
The Canadian Light Dragoons…
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canadian_units_of_the_War_of_1812
I am really pleased with them…
I am going to try and have a little solo game soon.
The Tunics are… Citadel… Kantor Blue.
The Facings are… Citadel… Evil Sunz Scarlet.
The Overalls are… Citadel… Administratum Grey.
The White Belts are… Citadel… Corax White.
The Knapsacks are… Foundry… Moss Light 29C.
The Carbines are… Citadel… Mournfang Brown.
As always everything was given a coat of Aly’s Brown Liquid and highlighted with the original colours, the belts were further highlighted up with pure White.
The figures are from Knuckleduster Miniatures

The paints are Wargames Foundry and Citadel...

I did some Canadian Militia Cavalry too Aly, but I used left over Perry Light Draggins with Tarleton helmets...they worked for me! Look forward to seeing you do a small solo game...if might inspire imitation ......
ReplyDeleteThe Perry dragoons certainly work well…. There was a Quebec unit that wore a very similar uniform..
DeleteHopefully I will manage to find some time for a wee game fairly soon…
All the best. Aly
Nice bit of brushwork there Aly! I do think though that Knuckleduster are an acquired taste in figure design. You know of course which range is the backbone of my collection...😁
ReplyDeleteThank you David…
DeleteKnuckleduster are not to everyone’s taste but, I am rather fond of their quirkiness…
I work beside people who weren’t born when I made that range😂
All the best. Aly
Brilliant work as usual, though I’m always a little worried by the use of « Aly’s brown liquid ».
ReplyDeleteThank you JBM…
DeleteAly’s Brown Liquid is perfectly safe if used correctly 😁
All the best. Aly.
Very nice work Aly. I can honestly say I’ve never seen a unit of them before so a delightful first.
ReplyDeleteThank you Carlo…
DeleteThere are quite a few unusual/interesting units involved in this period…
All the best. Aly
Lovely figures as always Aly. I look forward seeing to your solo game too.
ReplyDeleteThank you Stuart…
DeleteHopefully I will get a game in sooner rather than later…
All the best. Aly
Very nice, as usual. Looking forward to the game.
ReplyDeleteThank you Rob…
DeleteSo am I 😁
All the best. Aly
The unit is very nice, Aly: the coats of the horses are also very successful.
ReplyDeleteBut what do the dragoons have on their helmets, feathers, or fur?
Thank you…
DeleteThe helmet crest is made of fur… apparently bear skin.
All the best. Aly
Lovely looking unit of light horse!
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
Thank you Iain…
DeleteAll the best. Aly.
Another cracking unit there Aly and look forward to reading about your solo game soon:).
ReplyDeleteThank you Steve.

Lovely figs and rendering. Very interesting to see a Canadian mounted unit. Surprised to hear that they are Knuckleduster. I was thinking Old Glory until I ran across that.
ReplyDeleteThank you Ed…
DeleteThey are a lot chunkier than Old Glory but there are certainly some stylistic similarities.
All the best. Aly
Very nice Aly! I do like the knuckleduster figures.
ReplyDeleteThank you Meic…
DeleteThey are rather characterful.
All the best. Aly
Nicely done Aly interesting sculpts indeed 👍
ReplyDeleteThank you Matt…
DeleteThey are indeed…
