Greetings…
This week I took delivery of a new painting desk and chair…Hurrah!
I’ve been working on my old kitchen table for a while which was just too small and a bit rickety.
I am always dismayed by how many parts and how many different screws, nuts and bolts go into a simple piece of furniture.
The chair isn’t perfect… I would have preferred something with a higher back… but I am going to wait until all my house renovations are finished before I splash out on something a bit more flash.
Anyway… here it is.
This is almost certainly the tidiest it will ever be…
Next up will be some 40mm British… and soon some Spanish.

They have self-cleaning ovens, I wonder when self-tidying desks will be a 'thing'?

Nice Aly it makes such a difference having a good space to paint , but that is the tidiest painting desk ever and we look forward to another photo in a few weeks !

I have similar issues with self assembly furniture Aly and usually have a few "spare" bits left over!

DeleteAbout a third of the screws, nuts and bolts I have in my toolbox are leftovers from IKEA purchases…
I am hoping that they were just extras 😳

Great new desk Aly. I really like the lighting arrangement too.
ReplyDeleteI like to have one light to focus on what I am painting and another to just flood the area… it helps cut out unnecessary shadows.

Aly - new desk looks really good. May it serve you well. I am reminded that the last time I changed my painting desk (when I moved into the attic, for the pandemic) I found an astonishing number of items I didn't even know I'd lost yet.
