Greetings…
Painting at Morrison Towers is still a bit on the slow side… But I have managed to add four ATS recruits to the Dads Army Collection.
I am very pleased with them…
The colours are pretty much the same as the previous ATS Officer.
I also found this old Airfix 54mm German Infantryman and couldn’t resist colouring him in…
A real blast from the past…😁
House wise…
My bedroom is finished… No more sleeping on the couch…
Next on the list is reorganising the cellar a bit so I can have a spray booth and a better place to make terrain…
I’m actually builder free for the next week … so everything is pleasantly quiet.😁
All the best. Aly

Great to see you getting some painting in Aly…no sleeping on the couch during the day !
ReplyDeleteThank you Matt…
DeleteI will do my best 😁
All the best. Aly
That's a well-tanned bunch of ATS, are they for service overseas?
ReplyDeleteYour 54mm German is a blast from the past, I had a few boxes of those 54mm WW2 soldiers. It raises an interesting question. I always tended to paint Germans' trousers more grey than their jackets which I do more of a green shade, just like your figure here. I believe they should all be feld-grau (yes I know that's a very variable shade) is that wrong or did we just copy Airfix box-art that was wrong?
The ATS are healthy outdoors girls… Destined for the East Midlands.
DeleteI think the lighting makes them look a bit tanned…
The German uniforms 1939- 1940 definitely had Blue Grey trousers as well as Dark Green Collars…
Everything appears to have changed when they invaded Russian…
“What a surprise “
Lovely work Aly! Nice basing too!
ReplyDeleteThank you Ray…
DeleteAll the best. Aly
Good to see you are poorly g along despite the disruption. I like the new base style. See you Sunday?
ReplyDeleteThank you Phil…
DeleteSee you on Sunday.😁
All the best. Aly
Fat fingers and spell checker syndrome, that should read ‘pootling’
DeleteI bought some Airfix 54mm Germans last month and was wondering what style to paint them in - you have solved that issue! Lovely stuff.
ReplyDeleteGlad to be of help old chap…
DeleteJust make sure the boots are shiny…. It’s the villainous thing to do.
I use two coats of Tamiya Clear …
All the best. Aly
The ATS recruits look great Aly, very nice job on them and as for the Airfix German, top work and a real blast from the past, brought back a some great memories of war in the back garden!
ReplyDeleteShiny jack boots. Must get varnish. Glad you got some quality couch time in, naps are preferable to watching paint dry,
ReplyDeleteNice projects.
Luverly ATS girls Aly and the old school 1/32 scale Airfix German looks great!
ReplyDeleteNice to see the fairer sex well represented and armed! Your Airfix German tempts me to do the same with a couple of Historex models I came across last week for the Napoleonic period. You know the pile is too big when you start "finding" things in the stash! Glad you are off the couch, for good I hope. Is there an end date for the construction?
ReplyDeleteLove those Bad squiddo figures. Glad to hear that you've finished your 1:1 painting.
ReplyDeleteLovely ATS types and the figure from our collective distant past made me smile!
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
Outstanding painting of that 54 mm Airfix German. I finally painted mine from my youth a few years ago, along with the British paras. The rest are still waiting. All such wonderful figures.
ReplyDeleteMake sure that you don't take up too much space with the spray booth so there is still plenty of room for wine and beer!
Best wishes, James
Glad you are rescued from the couch, and builder free for a whole week! Giving women guns can only end badly for someone though...
ReplyDeleteLovely work Aly. I like your basing technique, will there be a tutorial at some point?
