Some rather nice Little Britons...

Greetings...

This weekend I was sent some lovely pictures all the way from Wellington in New Zealand of Murray Nash's collection of Little Britons.
It is such a nice collection that I asked him if it was okay to post them on the blog... he said it was..

Its nice to see some familiar units here but there are also some that maybe I should add to my own collection...
I particularly like the Highland Light Infantry and the Russian Cuirassiers...

They were all painted by Nigel Fun-Nel who is from Hastings in New Zealand...

Wonderful toys...

And of course here is the cheap commercial plug...

All the best and a big thank you to Murray...Aly

  1. Most splendid array! Among the many chocolates in the box, the white-jacketed Russians of this epoch always catch my fancy! Nobody can eat just one: resist! resist!

  2. Hi Aly

    Thanks for posting these.

When I first saw this range of figures and your units it triggered in my mind's eye very early childhood memories of what wargaming was and can still be.
The units were largely inspired by your armies and the photos I have seen on the web.

I have numerous armies painted in the modern/realistic style. But this collection has a very special place in my collection. I don't see the two styles of wargaming figures (e.g., matt realistic versus shiny toys) so much as a "or" but rather an "and". Celebrate both styles.

    1. Hi Murray
I agree entirely with your view on wargame styles...
I too collect matt and shiny large and small... each brings joy in there own way.

      All the best. Aly

  5. Not something which appeals to me, but there is no doubting the time and care lavished on them to get the look just fight.
