ALY MORRISON'S "BUTTERFLY" ADVENTURES IN THE WORLD OF WARGAMES AND TOY SOLDIERS

The War of Spanish Succession... A Parade.

Greetings...

So here it is a Parade...

First up...

The British/English...

And in no particular order... The Units...

Next up...

The Allies...

And now...

The French...

Well there you go... not a bad collection... or possibly start of a collection.

It was interesting as I put these images together how much my Blogging has changed...

The earlier pictures are not very well catalogued... They are just in a folder called WSS..
The later units are all in separate folders which include original photo's, cropped photo's, standards and uniform details... An interesting learning curve indeed.

The early units have Purchased standards... The latter ones are home made...
My photographs have changed subtly... A new camera has helped along with a light tent and an improved ability to crop pictures...

This has and will continue to be a very enjoyable project...

Right I am going to get on my butterfly and flutter around for a while...

All the best   Aly

  1. A impressive collection , I do like the WSS the uniforms are much easier to paint than later wars .

  2. Aly, they are a joy to look at - and a tribute to your hard work and talent. I think I'd spend most of my time looking at them rather than playing with them. Not sure I'd let someone else handle them particularly either, however careful they were.

I do spend an inordinate time looking at them...
And to date the only person I feel I can trust handling them is my daughter... ;-)

  5. Great stuff. I have some of those units in my own, much more microscopic, 6mm collection

Don’t think of them as being small... they are just further away ;-)

  6. I love a good parade...it always makes me want to break out the John Philip Sousa records and play some marching music...until I realise I don’t own any. Superb collection, Aly, enough for a battle?

  11. Looks great Aly! Like for many wargamers, the problem with such photos is that it makes you think about starting new projects! ;-)

  12. Absolutely fantastic - I wouldn't expect anything else, of course, but they really are superb. Thanks for putting together this post - inspirational. [Would it be OK if I were just a little bit jealous?]

If you are a bit jealous of my toys then that puts us on an even footing... I feel the same when I see your lovely Napoleonics... ;-)
