This is a really interesting, well written and enjoyable read with plenty maps and illustrations....
Even if you are not interested in the War of 1812... This would make a great scenario for any period

All the best.   Aly

    1. I regularly feel the draw of The War of 1812...
I will no doubt succumb to temptation soon 😁

It’s a great little story... one of many coastal raids that the British did during the war...

      All the best. Aly

  2. Thanks for the tip Aly....Mark and I have already succumbed to the lure of this particular conflict, as you probably recall. One of the attractions is the plethora of small scale actions...even the major battles like Lundys Lane only involved a few thousand men.

I really must paint some toys up...

  4. Sounds really interesting I haven't really gone into the war of 1812 properly, only skimming the surface but sounds like a good book!

The author has added a chapter which contains a lot of the official letters and reports ... these make interesting reading in their own right...
