Greetings...
This book arrived today...
Volume Two of Uniforms of the French Armies 1750-1870 in the Art of JOB...
https://soldiershop.com/shop/uniforms-of-french-armies-1750-1870-vol-2/
Once again it is exactly what it says on the cover...
I have always liked JOB’s artwork... it is clear and detailed with... when appropriate... a touch of humour...
I think that there are five books in the series... I intend to buy them all... wild and unchained thing that I am...
Some more Sassanids up next...
All the best. Aly
I enjoy JOB’s work too!

All five? Have you won the Lottery? Seriously though, looks a useful addition to the library.
ReplyDeleteYes all five David...
DeleteBut not in one go...😁

All five, a veritable Francophile bibliophile 🇫🇷
ReplyDeleteOui en effet...

Nope - not doing this. Not buying another book and being tempted back into Napoleonics. Nope.
ReplyDeleteGo on ... you know you want to...

Those books are great. When being addicted you can spend a fortune on their website ;-)
ReplyDeleteBest wishes,
Jan
P.S. Out of hospital and back home finally! Back to the minis soon I hope ;-)
You are of course correct... the Soldiershop website is a very dangerous place to go... I highly recommend it 😂
DeleteIt’s great to hear that you are back home...
All the best. Aly
Nice tip, I now have one on the way - after I've almost finished painting my French ;)
ReplyDeleteThe website is a land of serious temptation...
DeleteLooks like a very useful addition to the library Aly - one can never have too many books ….well that's my opinion, not sure my wife agrees!
ReplyDeleteI agree Keith... I can always find room for another book...or two

Very nice tip Aly and an intense investigation and purchase certainly looks in order. I do so much enjoy the work of Job.
ReplyDeleteI have always liked the work of JOB... I was also quite surprised to find out that there are reproductions of some of his artwork available from Amazon...
