Lion Rampant... A Roman Villa so far. And Winter Has Come

Greetings...

Progress on the Roman Villa has been a bit slower that I would wish...

Still it moves along steadily...

Everything is assembled and the base colours have been applied...

I am now ready to start dry-brushing...

Also... Winter has Come....

To the Wargames Room...

The table is now set up for my Boxing Day Game with Mharaid...

All the best.   Aly

  3. I'm sure that such a fine villa must have a splendid hypocaust to fend off the cold.

But will it fend off Sassanids?

  4. I hope you are going to put some fancy mosaics on the floors in there and you’ll need to get the hypercaust working as well now that winter is coming, lol.

    1. I was ... just for a few seconds... tempted to have removable roofs and internal details... hmmm! Not this time😁

I a sure the Sassanids will supply some form of heating in the new year...

      All the best. Aly

  6. To all of you...

It’s interesting that I don’t ever really think of Ancients and Winter together... Apart from Hannibal crossing the Alps.
There must have been some ‘Aggro’ in the winter months...
    Flutter flutter flutter...😁

  10. Looking good. I'm another one who never really thought of winter in terms of Ancients battles but I can see some possibilities.
    Merry Christmas.

    1. Thank you Rob...

Whenever I put together the winter table for our Boxing Day game I start to think of what periods I could do with it...
The Retreat from Moscow and the 2nd Schleswig Holstein war come to mind first but not normally Ancients...

      All the best. Aly

    2. For me the obvious one involves visits to the Antarctic involving 6' tall albino penguins and various otherwordly visitors...
