ALY MORRISON'S "BUTTERFLY" ADVENTURES IN THE WORLD OF WARGAMES AND TOY SOLDIERS

New Toys… Some MDF buildings.

Greetings…

Some future urban development for my Shiny Napoleonics…

I ordered a few more 15mm buildings from Sarissa … I shall not be building them immediately ,but it’s nice to have them on hand for when the mood takes me…

Apart from a few more walls ,this lot should be enough for my needs… at the moment.

I have some Canadian Voltigeurs on the painting desk at the moment… hopefully they shouldn’t take too long to finish…

All the best   Aly

    1. I am hoping that with the right government grants and infrastructure investment It will eventually grow into a small town… 😁

  2. Thank you so much for showing your latest purchases - you introduced us to another manufacturer we didn't know. The buildings look very beautiful and full of detail, by taking a look at the photos from Sarissa Precision's website. There aren't any pictures of buildings populated by miniatures there though, so let's wait to see what they look like when you finish them and your Shiny Napoleonics will roam among them ... By the way, Sarissa Precision also has a section of North American buildings: do you think Captain Drinkmore will have an inn at his disposal in the future where he could make a pit stop between one battle and another? Have fun!

    1. Sarissa have a great range of buildings… they work well built straight from the pack but there is also plenty of room to detail them up if you want…
I think Drinkmore would be more interested in a Brewery or a Whisky Still in the woods…😁

      All the best. Aly

  3. A good mix of buildings there Aly and they should come up rather well when you get round to them. It does remind me that I need to work on some more of my more European buildings soon, to give a bit of variety to the table.

    1. I suppose I would describe the mix as a bit town and a bit country…
I always enjoy doing any kind of terrain so it will be a nice treat…

  4. Looks good - the 15mm building with 25mm models is an interesting aesthetic and very 'old school' if you know what I mean - I wonder if it will work with ancients as well?

    1. The Sarissa buildings are a touch over scale so it works rather well…

And of course it’s nicely old school…
I think it would indeed work well with ancients..

  5. They should be just right for 28mm from what I have seen of them.

    1. As my Shiny Napoleonics are mostly 20-23mm tall they fit very well and the smaller footprint is also very old school…

  6. I like Sarissa kits - they usually fit together well and look good. Though mine are all 28mm - got a few left to make up at the moment.

    1. They are nice relatively simple kits… as are the Warbases buildings…which leaves you to do what you want with them…
I am looking forward to working on them…

  11. Nice set of buildings Aly! I really like putting together those little "doll houses", but so much painting them. Looking forward to seeing yours painted though ;-)

    Best wishes,

    1. They do have a doll house vibe to them don’t they…

There is a little company in the U.K. that makes 1/48th scale dolls houses… I suspect they would be a skirmish gamers dream…

  12. Good looking buildings and a nice European feel to them rather than being generic! Motoring along with your 1812 project, you'll be finished in no time!

    1. I thing one of the faults that can be said about some MDF buildings is their tendency to be somewhat generic… although this still gives you a good base to build on…
The thing I liked about these was how characterful they are…
Hopefully I shall get something 1812 posted tomorrow… as to finishing something…
      I may have a pause…
But I don’t think my butterfly will ever let me finish anything… 😁
