Yes it’s all starting to come together...
DeleteThe game will be 6’x8’...
It will cover the hangers etc , the dispersal area and part of the nearby town...
Well that’s todays plan.... :-)

Aly, I remember seeing in a film (Aces High, or Blackadder perhaps) pilots learning to fly on bikes equipped with biplane wings. Whilst googling to find out where I found out the RAF did use this training method for teaching formation flight and there are some piccies online - perhaps you need a sprog pilot's bike parked up against one of your sheds!
ReplyDeleteHi Stuart
DeleteThere were a lot of different training devices...
If we have the time it would be nice to include one one the table...
All the best. Aly
I like the planes particularly!
ReplyDeleteYes Mr Andrews is a dab hand at this kit building lark...

Lovely, stuff. In the Airbus training centre in Toulouse they have one of the last remaining Antoinette fight simulators that dates back as far as 1909. It is a wonderful Heath-Robinson like thing with the pilot sitting on a seat astride a what is essentially a wooden barrel cut in half while several blokes stand around it pulling on wires and levers. Google it and have a look at the images...it is a fun thing.
ReplyDeleteThank you Mark...
DeleteWhat an incredible looking device...
I have found a few more pictures of early simulators ... they all look bonkers...
I shall put them in my next post...
All the best. Aly
Nice! I especially like your squadron of aeroplanes.
ReplyDeleteThank you Jonathan.
DeleteA single WW1 plane is a lovely thing ...
A whole squadron simply multiplies the pleasure. :-)
All the best. Aly
