A bunch of stuff for our game...
First off Dave has been making a hanger...
Next up a broken Fokker...
I have finished 6 more British cavalry...
As it turns out King Edwards Horse fought on foot in this engagement...doh!
I will still use them... with luck we will have some dismounted cavalry in time for the game...
I have also made a couple of vignettes for even more table dressing...
I've found a dodgy looking geezer...
That way...
A line up...
Hopefully I will find time to do more... as they are quite fun.
Last post Stuart Insch and Mark Strachen made comments about the various flight simulators from the WW1...
This fired my curiosity...with a bit of digging I have found a few photo's on line...
I am not sure if we will have time to make any .. but they are interesting in their own right anyway...
This is the one Mark mentioned ... The Antoinette simulator.

This is a rather torturous looking device from America...
All the best Aly
Gets better every post.
ReplyDeleteGreat pics, you couldn't make it up.
Thank you Phil...

Brilliant post Aly - love the Fokker on the trailer nearly as much as the old photos of the simulators.
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts exactly, Carlo! Really enjoyed the old flight simulator photos.
DeleteThank you gentlemen...
DeleteThe simulator’s are quite fascinating... I am sure that there are many more designs out there...
All the best. Aly
Loving this "Show and Tell," thanks Aly for sharing. All this work leading up to the demo game is going to look like an award wining demo game. The Fokker is wonderful as are the photos of the flight simulators!
ReplyDeleteBest wishes,
GH
Thank you Helen...
DeleteWe still have a number of things to get finished...I am sure I will still be painting the night before the show...
It’s the smell of fresh varnish that makes it a good demo game... ;-)
All the best. Aly
Shaping up to be a great looking table Aly.
ReplyDeleteAs for the training aids, perhaps it's no wonder the lifespan of a sprog pilot was only a few minutes!
Thank you Stuart...
DeleteOf course you have to are in mind that these simulators were an improvement on what went before...
All the best. Aly
A splendidly informative post! I could find a home for the hanger when you are through with it 😉
ReplyDeleteThank you David...
DeleteI am afraid you would have to fight Mr Andrews for that prize... and he is bigger than both of us... ;-)
All the best. Aly
I enjoyed this post, a lot! Splendid and elegant British troops, well choosen and evocative historical photos...and this plane is just superb, excellent job!
ReplyDeleteThank you very much Phil...
DeleteI am looking forward to seeing everything on the table...
All the best. Aly
