Schilling-Figuren height comparison...

Just a quickie...


I said that I would post a height comparison for the Schilling-Figuren Napoleonics that I picked up in Hamburg...


Well here it is...


Perry,..Schilling-Figuren,...Eureka,...Front Rank
As you can see they are a lot taller than you would expect for 20mm... in fact closer to 30mm to the top of the head... although they are of a much slighter build than most 28-30mm miniatures.


I still don't know what I am going to use them for... but as I said ... I neeeeded them...

      They are very nice indeed... but they don’t really fit in with anything I have...

      Yup!
      Fortunately most of the toys are 1/72 scale.
      His 28mm artillery pieces are very nice though.

      He is a delicate soul... but compared to the rest of the Schilling range he is quite chunky... like yourself I prefer my toy soldiers with a more robust physique...
      I think I shall painting them up as display pieces... they should look quite charming in the drawing room.

      The web site is worth a look...although these chaps are actually on the large side compared to the rest of the range...
      At Tactica he was showing a new 1/72 range of miniatures covering the battle of Solferino... if they had been 28mm I would have been lost... ;-)

    I already looked at the website when I saw these in the original post - thanks Aly! You are right though - put these on a slightly thicker base than used for standard 28mm and they would look fine - and I understand why you need them too, those guys on parade with an RSM inspecting them etc look great - just cant figure out how one would use them in a game - but you still need them!

      They are definitely vignette pieces... my thoughts are to paint them up for display not play.
      A nice cobble stone base would show them off nicely...
