I said that I would post a height comparison for the Schilling-Figuren Napoleonics that I picked up in Hamburg...
Well here it is...
Perry,..Schilling-Figuren,...Eureka,...Front Rank |
I still don't know what I am going to use them for... but as I said ... I neeeeded them...
All the best Aly
They are rather nice figures aren't they !
ReplyDeleteThey are very nice indeed... but they don’t really fit in with anything I have...
DeleteI shall find a place for them... ;-)
All the best. Aly
Very fine figure, he makes the other three look like grotesques.
ReplyDeleteYou could also say that the three figures with fine military physiques make him look like a very young new recruit... ;-)
DeleteAll the best. Aly
Don't look at their website Aly.
ReplyDeleteJust saying...
Its too late though....isn't it!
Yup!
DeleteFortunately most of the toys are 1/72 scale.
His 28mm artillery pieces are very nice though.
All the best. Aly
A rather skinny little chap. Not to my taste at all, but I'm sure you will soon own dozens, if not scores, or even hundreds!đ
ReplyDeleteHe is a delicate soul... but compared to the rest of the Schilling range he is quite chunky... like yourself I prefer my toy soldiers with a more robust physique...
DeleteI think I shall painting them up as display pieces... they should look quite charming in the drawing room.
All the best. Aly
Lovely figure, dare I look at their website?
ReplyDeleteThe web site is worth a look...although these chaps are actually on the large side compared to the rest of the range...
DeleteAt Tactica he was showing a new 1/72 range of miniatures covering the battle of Solferino... if they had been 28mm I would have been lost... ;-)
All the best. Aly
I already looked at the website when I saw these in the original post - thanks Aly! You are right though - put these on a slightly thicker base than used for standard 28mm and they would look fine - and I understand why you need them too, those guys on parade with an RSM inspecting them etc look great - just cant figure out how one would use them in a game - but you still need them!
ReplyDeleteThey are definitely vignette pieces... my thoughts are to paint them up for display not play.
DeleteA nice cobble stone base would show them off nicely...
All the best. Aly
Lovely figure, just falls between the scales, but nice to have!
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
