Lion Rampant... Roman Infantry

Yet another unit for this project...
Some more Roman Infantry...

This unit is made up from the men that were left over from my re-basing...
I have added spears and new shields so that they now represent Auxiliaries...

The miniatures are...
A&A...  https://www.aandaminiatures.co.uk/

Bases from Warbases...
https://warbases.co.uk/?product_cat=premier-bases-metric

The shield transfers are...
Little Big Men Studios... https://www.littlebigmenstudios.com/

This was a nice quick turnaround which has given me a whole new unit...

All the best   Aly

I was rather taken by the simplicity of this design... it ties what is a bit of amixed unit together...

The basing seems to work with most periods as well...

  3. Lovely....and there's little difference between auxiliary and legionary in terms of equipment in this era, so you can use them as either.

    1. Thank you Stuart...
I think Rome got so desperate throughout this period that the just used what they could get...
The spear and oval shield certainly makes them visibly different on the table...

      It’s a very interesting period...
I have yet to read the Harry Sidebottom novels...
given the current situation... I may have the time to do so.

I have based the basing on what was used in the Pikeman's Lament rules...

  13. Lovely job on the Romans Aly.
I have some Romans of my own in the lead mountain, if the lock-down goes on long enough they may even see some paint.

  14. Thank you Paul...

You don’t need a lock down to paint Romans... ;-)
