Greetings...
These fellows have been on my painting desk for a while so I thought I would get them finished...
I have realised that I didn't post a breakdown of the paints I had used... so here we go...
The Uniform is... Citadel... Doombull Brown... With a Diluted Contrast Gore-Grunta Fur wash.
The Facings and Piping are... Wargames Foundry... Sky Blue 21B.
The Green Bits are... Citadel... Warboss Green.
The Yellow Bits are... Wargames Foundry... Ochre 4B.
The White Bits are... Citadel... Pallid Wych Flesh.
The Water Bottle and Bayonet Scabbard are... Citadel... Skrag Brown.
The Pack and Musket Stock are... Citadel... Mournfang Brown.
The Greatcoat is... Citadel... Administratum Grey.
The Water bottle Strap is... Wargames Foundry... Buff Leather 7B.
As usual everything was given a wash of Aly's Brown Liquid and was highlighted with the original colour...
The Sky Blue, Yellow, Green and White were all given a further highlight then the leather goods were gloss varnished.
I still have a couple more Grenadiers, 6 Fusiliers and some Command in the painting queue and a desire to add Spanish, Italians and British to this collection.
The miniatures are Perry Miniatures...

Back to some more basing... I have a parade to finish.
All the best Aly.
Fabulous work, Aly! Greet looking brown uniform. Did this unit serve in Spain? If so, this would be a good candidate to field in my own project.
ReplyDeleteThank you Jonathan...
DeleteThey did indeed fight in Spain... though I am not sure they covered themselves in glory.
They were raised in 1810 to patrol the Pyrenees and reached the strength of 3 Battalions...
They were mainly used for anti-guerrilla operations but took part in the defence of San Sebastian and an expedition into Spain in 1808-09.
They were disbanded in1813-14.
Looking up images for uniforms you can see that there were a lot of variations within the uniforms... I picked the ones that I liked most.
All the best. Aly
Thank you! Well, my Peninsular War French need to have this fine looking unit.

Very nice indeed Aly....the brown uniform is reminiscent of the Portuguese Cacadores and a nice change from the usual French blue and white.

DeleteBrown uniforms certainly seem to be the hip and trendy thing in the Peninsular...
It is also nice to paint French in a none French scheme...
