Lion Rampant... Based Sassanids

Greetings...

So here we have my now based up Sassanids...

That's all of my painted Romans and Sassanids based...
Even though I have no more bases to put them on I think I will add some Sassanid foot archers and spearmen onto the painting queue...
I also have an MDF Roman building that needs to be built.

All the best   Aly

I wanted them to look a bit more exotic and decedent compared the the more conservative (plain) Romans.

  6. Those Sassanids are great! I love the Savaran/Clibanarii of Aventine and A&A miniatures intermixed! I did the same :D keep them coming Aly.

    Best Regards!

  7. Smart looking figures on attractive bases, bar being round of course! Bases can be had by post from Arcane and Colonel Bill I've seen, also Charlie Foxtrot I'm told.

    1. Thank you David.
I think isn’t the roundness that gives them that extra je ne sais quoi 😜

  8. Anyone who knows me will know my obsession with the Sasanians, and these are lovely examples. The Asavaran are particularly nice, but I do wish designers would stop adding globe hats to everything. It's bad enough clipping them all off in 15mm, let alone 28mm!

    1. Thank you Doug...
The A&A Sassanids were made quite a will ago... so possibly pre none globe...
I believe that the same designer made the Aventine range...more recently... and has based his work on current thinking...
I don’t mind having a few globe hats in my collection... they are a bit of a cliche but so are Romans in uniform red tunics... which I also like 😂
