Greetings...
Another couple of Chasseurs... This time Grenadiers
These guys were of course painted in the same way as the Voltigeurs...
The Uniform is... Citadel... Doombull Brown... With a Diluted Contrast Gore-Grunta Fur wash.
The Facings and Piping are... Wargames Foundry... Sky Blue 21B.
The Red Bits are... Citadel... Evil Sunz Scarlet.
The White Bits are... Citadel... Pallid Wych Flesh.
The Water Bottle and Bayonet Scabbard are... Citadel... Skrag Brown.
The Pack and Musket Stock are... Citadel... Mournfang Brown.
The Greatcoat is... Citadel... Administratum Grey.
The Water bottle Strap is... Wargames Foundry... Buff Leather 7B.
As usual everything was given a wash of Aly's Brown Liquid and was highlighted with the original colour...
The Sky Blue, Red and White were all given a further highlight then the leather goods were gloss varnished.
The miniatures are Perry Miniatures...

During the week I also took delivery of some new toys
Sassanid Infantry and Cavalry... plus some Roman Cataphracts from Aventine Miniatures... https://aventineminiatures.co.uk/
Some of the lovely new Brunswick Infantry from Front Rank... https://www.frontrank.com/product-category/napoleonic/napoleonic-brunswick/brunswick-infantry-reinforcement-packs/
I also picked up a couple of 40mm American War of Independence figures... I have been curious to see what they looked like for some time... and I am very keen to get some paint on them.
Some more excellent shield transfers from Little Big Men Studios... https://www.littlebigmenstudios.com/
So plenty to get going on with...
All the best Aly
Marvelous painting on the chasseurs, Aly! From the load of recent purchases, are you single handedly trying to keep the hobby afloat?
ReplyDeleteThank you Jonathan...
DeleteI am doing my bit for the industry and my lead mountain... there are more toys on the way.
All the best. Aly
Wonderful painting...and promising transfers...
ReplyDeleteThank you Phil...
DeleteI do like those Little Big Men Transfers...
All the best. Aly
Lovely painting Aly.......and quite a lot of purchases ! 40 mm AWI a project that needs scratching ?
ReplyDeleteThank you Matt...
DeleteIt should keep me out of trouble for a while...
The 40mm toys are certainly an itch that’s needed scratching for a while... I will paint up these two and we will see where it takes me...
All the best. Aly
I have a copy of ASODAS but never played them , although I have dabbled in the fantasy version .
ReplyDeleteThe ‘Song of’ rules are very similar and quite flexible... I really enjoy using them.
DeleteMharaid and I have just finished a virtual game using FaceTime and Photoshop... I came second đ
All the best. Aly
Lovely job and lots of new stuff in the painting pipeline! I really like Aventine miniatures. I got hold of their Samnite cavalry as an Italian ally to my Carthagnian army. Great sculpts!
ReplyDeleteThank you Jan.
DeleteAventine and S&S are both lovely ranges... I really enjoy painting them.
All the best. Aly
I really like the Chasseurs de Montagne Aly, and that looks like an impressive purchase of reinforcements you have taken delivery of!
ReplyDeleteThank you Keith...
DeleteMostly reinforcements for the Sassanids... with a couple of butterfly moments đ
All the best. Aly
Lovely work on these Aly, I picked up a box of the new Perry French a couple of weeks ago and they look great sculpts.
ReplyDeletelooking forwards to seeing what you do with the other new toys.
Thank you Paul...
DeleteIt’s a lovely box of miniatures.... I quite fancy painting a batch up as Italians...
There is a good mix of toys so it should keep me amused for a bit...
All the best. Aly
Very nice job on those figures Aly. And, new toys, what's not to like! No wonder my order took so long!
ReplyDeleteThank you David...
DeleteI think your order may have been bigger than mine...
All the best. Aly
More snazzy Naps and more Sassanids to look forward to seeing, and what's not to like about Black Brunswickers, I remember being struck by a painting of them in a Waterloo book back in my school library.
ReplyDeleteThank you Phil...
DeleteThe Brunswickers should be interesting to paint... I am going to try out some Contrast Paints on them.
All the best. Aly
Splendid Nappys! I may have to check out D&S as another way to get figs on the table (it seems quite popular: I'm seeing it mentioned quite often).
ReplyDeleteThank you Ed...
DeleteDrums and Shakos are a nice little set of rules.... you get an enjoyable game with a few figures on the table...The historical accuracy really comes from you and how you decide to play....
All the best. Aly
I really want those new Brunswickers...even though I previously had no need for a new Napoleonic project!
ReplyDeleteThey are something that is definitely needed...đ
DeleteLovely looking grenadiers and a nice big pile of varied shiny stuff!
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
Thank you Iain,,,,
