A New Book… Against Spain.

Greetings…

This lovely little book arrived the other day…

Against Spain by my good chum Stuart Insch…

Available here…

https://stuartinschwargames.blogspot.com/2022/02/against-spain-on-sale-now.html

This book follows Stuart’s first campaign book…
Wargaming the Sugar Islands Campaign.

And is an excellent companion volume…
There is as before a breakdown of the the campaign, a description of the forces involved and a collection of scenarios…
I can see a number of rules systems being suitable for playing these out… And as before I suspect they could be used for many other Horse and Musket/Black Powder periods.
A jolly good read indeed which I fully recommend to you all…

All the best.  Aly.

Disclaimer… Stuart has (at the moment) not paid or bribed me to say anything nice about this publication…although circumstances may change in the future…(Stuart… I like Brandy,White Port and Beer…Just so you know 😁)…

  1. Looks like a nice little book, as you say Aly. Of course you should have solicited the unsolicited gifts BEFORE you told us all about it - bit late now!

      I wouldn’t make a very good corrupt politician…would I…😁

    1. I think it will do rather well…
I only hope I don’t end up in some sort of Beergate scandal 😂

  3. Very nice, do I hear those wings fluttering per chance?

    1. The butterfly wings are always fluttering…
Although for the moment I will stick to altering/using some of the scenarios for The War of 1812….

  4. Cute book, and original campaigns! Do you already have miniatures with which you plan to play these battles, or will it be a whole new project? Given the geographic area of the book, perhaps a bottle of rum would be a more appropriate gift to ask for...

    1. I got the book because it is an interesting and unusual subject…
I will most likely use some of the scenarios for my War of 1812 games…
As to whether I would start a collection… never say never😁.

      I hadn’t thought of rum 😂

  7. White port is nice. Few years ago in Portugal I had a good series of tawny port tastings - decided 10 year old vintage way better than younger ports, 20 - 40 years old port no better than the 10 year old.

    1. Personally I think the main difference between a 20 year Port and a 10 year Port is the price 😁
