ALY MORRISON'S "BUTTERFLY" ADVENTURES IN THE WORLD OF WARGAMES AND TOY SOLDIERS

Saturday 14 October 2023

Late Romans… Almost done.

Greetings…

When I say almost done I of course only mean the rebasing… Freshly painted new units will definitely be added as time goes on.

First up…

Another unit of Goths/Germans…

Apart from some retouching on the clothing the only real work was done on the shields… They were not fully repainted but the designs they had were made bolder and cleaner.

Next up…

More Huns…

Not much done here… A bit of general sprucing, repainted shields, new plastic spears and standard pole.

Only a couple of command stands to come…

All the best.  Aly

  1. Very nice! Is any project ever really done? For me, too soon to know.

Of course nothing is ever finished… I’m already thinking about more Roman cavalry and Huns and……. 😁

There will of course be a parade…

  3. Looking good Aly. Rebasing can be a chore but there is a certain satisfaction when completed.

I am pleased how they have turned out… And it’s been quite painless…So much so that I am thinking of restarting my Crimean War rebasing 😱… It’s all fashion at the moment.

  9. Superb Aly,

Really nice job on those, the command figure is an excellent looking miniature. Goths can be fun also to paint.

I do like this period, I am fascinated by the decline of the Roman’s and how it just seemed to almost disappear in some places and continue to live on in others.

Look forward to your next installment

    Cheers
    Matt
