Greetings…
I have eventually got around to finishing off my little Lion Rampant solo play test…
I am pleased with how things went…
It has taken me a while to finish it as I have been slowly clearing the wargames room in preparation for some building work later in the year… I will of course leave the important things till last…
You know the kind of thing… Wargames table …Terrain …. Toys…
Anyway here are some pictures… And as it’s blogger they will be in no particular order…
Here are the last two…
I decided to end the game if a commander was killed…
The Romans look to be in for a bit of a kicking here….
And yes they lost the combat…
So did the Sassanid commander…
I will set up my photo booth and take pictures of the few toys that are painted…
I also have a bit of nostalgia lined up…
All the best Aly
You're 3rd century Romans and Sassanids look awesome!

Really nice mate. How did you go about solo playing it?
ReplyDeleteThank you JBM..
DeleteAs I was mostly trying to test the rules… I used cards to decide who moved… Red for Rome… Black for Persia…
I gave each side twelve cards…
A card was turned after each turn.
If an activation role caused a loss of a turn… I turned a card.
As this was a test…I just tried to switch my brain from one side to the other and do something interesting.. like infantry charging cavalry…
I will have to come up with something that doesn’t rely on schizophrenia to make my moves if I go solo with a full game.
All the best. Aly
A fine collection there Aly, it's great to see them all in action.

Nice.
ReplyDeleteBlogger can be fun, can't it? Everything goes in the right order, reverse order or random order and you never know which one it's going to be. I sometimes get fed up and add things individually - which also has it's problems...
Thank you Rob…
DeleteI normally put photos in individually… but this time I took a chance 🤣
All the best. Aly
Looks fun! I do love Lion Rampant (and all of Dan Mercy's games...).
ReplyDeleteThanks Tim…
DeleteYes I really enjoy all the Lion Rampant variants as with the Drums and Shakos rules they are quite hard to break.

Fantastic figures as usual Aly. I have not had any Blogger issues for many months...not since the last big upgrade. Seems like few others have had some recent problems though....
