Greetings...
These guys have been sitting on my painting desk for quite a few weeks now...
So I decided to get some paint on them...
The 2nd Paris Municipal Guard...
I am very pleased with these... they make for a very different French unit.
They are the new Perry Miniatures Plastic French Infantry... I altered the bearskins on the Voltigeurs to remove the front plate and bearskin patch.

I decided to use a bit more Contrast Colours than I would normally... I am interested in what I can do with them...
The Tunics are... Citadel... Evil Sunz Scarlet... Then a coat of Contrast Blood Angels Red followed by a highlight Evil Sunz Scarlet.
The Facings are... Citadel... Warboss Green... Followed by Quickshade Green Tone wash and highlight with the original shade.
The White bits are... Citadel... Corax White.. Followed by a wash of Contrast Apothecary White... this was then highlighted back up to an off white for the clothes and cords... the belts were taken up to a pure White.
The Pack and Gun were painted... Citadel... Mournfang Brown... and washed with a couple of coats of Aly's Brown Liquid.
The paints are..

So... Next up.... More Sassanids.
All the best Aly
I think the best response to them is 'Wow!'. Stunning work, Aly

DeleteThe only downside with these figures is with the amount of stunning detail on them they take an absolute age to paint.... a lot of fun though.
All the best. Aly
Nicely turned out Sir.

Thank you Matt...

Lovely work on these beutiful Perry figures Aly. I fully recognise the desire for "different" units...I have always had a hankering to add red coated Swiss units to my French Napoleonic army since reading about how their red jackets caused confusion at the Battle of Maida many years ago ( my reading...the battle was obviously many years ago, 215 I believe!)
ReplyDeleteThank you Keith...
DeleteYes there are quite a few different coloured units in the French army... sky blue, yellow, brown and green come to mind...
I really like this colour combination so it won...
When I get around to gaming with these I may try a confusion/friend or foe rule out.
All the best. Aly
You should be pleased. These figures look great! Well done!

Smashing work Aly - these are lovely - one of my favourite units - I am still angry that Napoleon never restored their eagle after Bailen. Upstart!
ReplyDeleteThank you Tony...
DeleteI may have to add a command group and rectify that for you....
All the best. Aly...
Looking good to me Aly, I am not sure I can comment on the painting technique they certainly look clean and crisp to me. I do like your white.....but I fear I am a man of habit in relation to painting👍
ReplyDeleteThank you Matt...
DeleteIf your happy with your technique and results it gives you then why change...
I am however.... a bit of a butterfly;-)
All the best. Aly
Lovely work Aly. Although I do wonder what Aly's brown liquid could possibly be ;)
ReplyDeleteThank you Paul....
DeleteThe recipe is in the Pages section....
Of course you can always make your own ‘Brow Liquid’.....
All the best. Aly
Thanks Aly. Should there be a spot of single malt in there too?
DeleteWell heck - those are just plain beautiful! :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you Jay...
