Lion Rampant... More Sassanid Archers.

Greetings...

Yet another addition to this collection...

Some more Sassanids archers....
This time based up as skirmishers...

This colour scheme was a bit of an experiment... and I am a very pleased with how they turned out, though this is the last of my pre-cut infantry bases...

I have enough correct sized bases to do one more cavalry unit... then I suppose I best start texturing them.

I think I shall go for a similar colour choice for the cavalry unit... Yet another Cataphract unit.

The white clothing is... Citadel... Pallid Wytch Flesh.
The Cloaks and Hat Bands are... Citadel... Wazdakka Red.
The Tunics are... Citadel... Warboss Green.
The leather goods are... Citadel... Skrag Brown and Doombull Brown.

Everything was given a coat of Aly's Brown Liquid then highlighted back to the original shade...
The Leather goods had a glaze of ... Tamiya Clear Orange...

The paints are..

The Miniatures are...

Bases from Warbases...

Next up... something shiny...

    1. Thank you David...
It was bases or two hundred rolls of toilet paper...

I clearly made the wrong choice...

  4. Great looking unit. I have to say that I'm not used to seeing the Sassanid footsloggers in any colour other than white, so they will certainly stand out.

    1. Thank you Nate...

I wanted to differentiate between the rank and file archers and the skirmishers...
      A bolder colour seemed appropriate...

  5. Those are great looking figures. I don't think I was familiar with A & A before. I wonder how they compare with Gripping Beast as I have an army of those which I would like to vary a bit.

    Best wishes,

    Jason

I don’t know how compatible A&A and Gripping Beast are... but when things get back to normal I may order some and see how they compare...

I am not sure Green is really posh... I would say distinguished.

You do know that there is now a chance that my Sassanid leader could end up being called Oopha Loompha King of Kings...
