Greetings...
Yet another addition to this collection...
Some more Sassanids archers....
This time based up as skirmishers...
This colour scheme was a bit of an experiment... and I am a very pleased with how they turned out, though this is the last of my pre-cut infantry bases...
I have enough correct sized bases to do one more cavalry unit... then I suppose I best start texturing them.
I think I shall go for a similar colour choice for the cavalry unit... Yet another Cataphract unit.
The white clothing is... Citadel... Pallid Wytch Flesh.
The Cloaks and Hat Bands are... Citadel... Wazdakka Red.
The Tunics are... Citadel... Warboss Green.
The leather goods are... Citadel... Skrag Brown and Doombull Brown.
Everything was given a coat of Aly's Brown Liquid then highlighted back to the original shade...
The Leather goods had a glaze of ... Tamiya Clear Orange...
The paints are..

A grand addition, but running out of bases, poor planning that...đ
ReplyDeleteThank you David...
DeleteIt was bases or two hundred rolls of toilet paper...
I clearly made the wrong choice...
All the best. Aly
Very nice Aly
ReplyDeleteThank you Keith...

Great looking unit. I have to say that I'm not used to seeing the Sassanid footsloggers in any colour other than white, so they will certainly stand out.
ReplyDeleteThank you Nate...
DeleteI wanted to differentiate between the rank and file archers and the skirmishers...
A bolder colour seemed appropriate...
All the best. Aly
Those are great looking figures. I don't think I was familiar with A & A before. I wonder how they compare with Gripping Beast as I have an army of those which I would like to vary a bit.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes,
Jason
Thank you Jason..
DeleteI don’t know how compatible A&A and Gripping Beast are... but when things get back to normal I may order some and see how they compare...
All the best. Aly
Lovely looking Sassanid skirmishers! Nice green!
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
Thank you Iain..
DeleteI am very pleased with the end result...
Alll the best. Aly
Nice colour scheme Aly I might pinch that for my next Arab unit .....but it won’t look quite so nice I bet ☹️
ReplyDeleteThank you Matt..
DeletePlease fell free to steal anything you want...
I think what you do will look splendid...
All the best. Aly
Very fine work! You may well be pleased with this rather posh colour scheme.
ReplyDeleteThank you Nick..
DeleteI am not sure Green is really posh... I would say distinguished.
All the best. Aly
And here I was getting all excited that you had that design mojo back and you had been busy with some Green Stuff!
ReplyDeleteLovety batch of archers Aly...has me singing that theme song “dumpty, dumpty, dumpty doo...” you knows how it goes...hey it day 25 of lockdown and sanity is taking a bit of a hammering...
Thank you Mark...
DeleteYou do know that there is now a chance that my Sassanid leader could end up being called Oopha Loompha King of Kings...
All the best. Aly
