ALY MORRISON'S "BUTTERFLY" ADVENTURES IN THE WORLD OF WARGAMES AND TOY SOLDIERS

Saturday 6 May 2023

Aly’s Brown Liquid makes an appearance…

The last time I was in Nottingham town centre I picked up the latest issue of Wargames Soldiers and Strategy Magazine…(No 124)

I only just got around to reading it this morning… and I was pleasantly surprised to find my name and Brown Liquid mentioned…

It was in an article by James McDowell on painting the Warlord Games Epic Waterloo figures…

The finished figures look fantastic… if I find myself painting really little people I shall probably try out his technique myself…

He mentioned that he came across the recipe for my Brown Liquid on YouTube… but of course all the hip kids know they can find it here…

    1. The colours are a pretty good match…
I wonder if Bovril has a matte or gloss finish…

  4. Aly the recipe is gold…well brownish gold…but extremely valuable nevertheless. I’ve put on a few of my wargaming mates to your concoction and we all swear by it. The difference it makes, especially in lighter coloured uniforms etc. is incredible.

  7. This reminds me I have to get the ingridients to make some more Liquid! It's a great stuff Aly that helps a lot. I used to use a lot of Devlan Mud which was great, but then Agrax was not the same thing. I'm really happy I found your recipe few years ago.

    Best wishes,
    Jan

  8. Blogs and Vlogs are nice, but to be acknowledged in print is still king in my view You have arrived! (beats having departed, that's for sure).

  9. I stand by my a statement that I made some years ago that next to "Lilly the Pink's" famous elixir the brown liquid is the saviour of the human race - or at least for wargames painters...

  11. I have a small question. With the reformulation of the Citadel shades, does this change your recipe in any way? All the best!
