Greetings…
Yeah I know… I will get my coat 😂
This is the next batch of test figures for my Dad’s Army project…
I am imagining Paratroopers landing on Wollaton Hall in Nottingham and river bound troops attacking Trent Bridge Cricket Ground…
So… here are the villains…
German Paratroopers… none of them disguised as nuns…yet.
I’m certainly getting the posts in this month,I’ve got a few more flutters on the way...
Okay when haven’t I.
And then I have got a substantial rebasing project in the works…we all know how much fun that is.
The Jumpsuits are.. Foundry… Storm Green 27B
The Trousers and Ammo Pouches are… Vallejo… Field Blue.
The Forage caps are… Foundry Storm Blue Light.
Nap sacks and knee pads are… Citadel Fenrisian Grey.
The Helmets are… Foundry… Storm Blue 39B.
The Water Bottles are… Foundry… Drab12B.
The Rifle Stocks are… Citadel… Skrag Brown.
The Leather… Citadel… Mournfang Brown.
Schmeisser Pouches are… Foundry… Drab Light 12C.
As alway everything was given a coat of Aly’s Brown Liquid and highlighted with the original colours.
The paints are Wargames Foundry,Vallejo and Citadel
ReplyDeleteThese look great! Inspiring me to get mine out and have a go at your paint scheme...
Thank you Warburton….
DeleteGet them out… you know it makes sense…
All the best. Aly
They all look rather nice Aly, let's hope they don't damage the turf at Trent Bridge.
ReplyDeleteThank you Ray…
DeleteI am sure the Home Guard will not be caught on the back foot.
All the best Aly
Which end will they open up from with the new ball?
ReplyDeleteApparently the Pavilion End…
DeleteBut what do I know… I’m Scottish 😁
All the best. Aly
Get your coat indeed ALY ... and your eye patch. Definitely a flutter worth sharing. Lovely looking batch. Are you going to recreate the period scenics for your chosen location?
ReplyDeleteThank you Greg…
DeleteIt would be great to recreate the pertinent sights for a campaign…
But I would need a massive table to just do Wollaton Park… it would however be nice to create something representative…
I live close to the cricket ground so it would be fun to represent my house on the table…
All the best. Aly
Very fine Aly. The Butter-Eagle-Fly may well have landed, but DON'T PANIC!
ReplyDeleteThank you…
DeleteDon’t tell them your name Phil…
All the best. Aly
Had me worried for a moment, but luckily this is a long way from Walmington. Also no worries for the pitch as that should already have been given over to turnips and the Land Girls will see 'em off.
ReplyDeleteI must find out if Trent Bridge was actually dug over for food production… and I will certainly be recruiting Land Girls.
DeleteAll the best. Aly.
What an excellent project. Should be some cracking miniatures coming out of this!
ReplyDeleteThank you JBM…
DeleteThere are loads of splendid miniatures out there that will work for this project… I think it will be a lot of fun.
All the best. Aly
Very nice Fallschirmjaegers Aly, the early war uniform looks particularly nice in my opinion. I like the Luftwaffe adler on their helmets - hand painted?
ReplyDeleteThank you Keith…
DeleteI much prefer the early war period… which is the very reason I have decided to do this…😁
The Adlers are all hand painted .
All the best. Aly
They are fabulous Aly, love the look and all the nice little details and touches. Best wishes- Quinn
ReplyDeleteThank you Quinn…
DeleteAll the best. Aly
Lovely work Aly…..let that butterfly free, I’ll be sharing some Operation Sealion soon when I get a chance
ReplyDeleteThank you Matt…
DeleteIt would be safe to say that the butterfly is running wild 😁
I look forward to seeing what you’ve been up to.
All the best. Aly
I was sure those helmet details were decals - Dadgumit Aly, your Butter-Eagle-Fly is out of control and raising the bar. Lovely job!
ReplyDeleteThank you David…
DeleteI hadn’t realised you could get decals… or I would have been tempted…
All the best. Aly
Lovely work Aly! I also thought the adlers and other details were decals. Great stuff! Out of all German troops of WW2 I like the Fallschirmjaegers the most. Have to finish mine that I started 10 (?) years ago but was fed up with painting all the Splittertarn for 1944!
ReplyDeleteBest wishes,
Jan
Thank you Jan…
DeleteIf I had known there might be transfers available I probably would have been tempted… although thinking about it transfers can be just as time consuming as painting your own…
I have just tried to capture the look of it rather than the detail.
I prefer the early war so I have avoided the pitfalls and nightmares of trying to get Splintertarn to look good…
I once painted a lot of 20mm late war Fallschirmjaegers… never again… I think Mr Andrews now has them.
All the best. Aly
Attacking Trent Bridge Cricket Ground...do you think that's wise, Sir?...ooops...wrong army...it is hard to keep up with that butterfly!
ReplyDeleteMore like… Halten Sie das für klug? Herr.😁
DeleteYes the butterfly is at full speed at the moment.
All the best. Aly
Lovely looking paras, although I am definitely looking forward to the para nuns! I used to enjoy going to Trent bridge when I was at Trent polytechnic, long ago now!
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
Thank you Iain…
DeleteThere will definitely be dodgy nuns and suspicious characters…
Trent Poly… now Nottingham Trent University… my daughter went there… it has a fantastic reputation.
All the best. Aly
